Even as i'm typing now there are thousands of Singaporeans queuing patiently at the Padang under the scorching hot sun so that they can pay their last respect to our dear founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. It was a touching sight to see my fellow Singaporeans, both young and old queuing orderly and quietly in the middle of the night when i was there with my mum on the first night. We are really thankful that we had a chance to pay our last respect to him. Thank you Mr Lee for all you have done for Singapore and rest in peace.

I'm deeply saddened that our beloved founding father, Mr Lee Kuan Yew has passed away today and our whole nation mourns his passing. There was a time when people said that Singapore won't make it but we did! It was all thanks to Mr Lee who worked tirelessly his whole life so that we and future generations of Singaporeans can be proud to call Singapore our home. I'm really grateful for all that you and the first generation of leaders have done for our country during those difficult times when we declared independence. Rest in peace, Sir and Majulah Singapura!

The year of the Goat will be coming soon and hopefully everyone has done their shopping and spring cleaning to welcome the new year ;) I'm still busy spring cleaning and getting my little guy to help out too. For those who are still doing their Chinese New Year (CNY) shoppings and stays in the north, do check out the cool Chinese New Year bazaar at Yishun Chong Pang. Its always very happening during this period and my boy loves to look at the beautiful flowers, windmills and cute CNY decors at the stalls. Here are some pictures i took during my recent trip there. Happy shopping and have a great Lunar New Year to all readers of my blog :)

We went Sea Aquarium and Ocean Restaurant awhile back to celebrate my birthday and had a lovely time there. I love the 4 course lunch set at Ocean Restaurant especially the onion soup but i was busy feeding my little guy too and did not take pictures of all the dishes.
My little guy loves his ice cream treat and even decided to feed himself :) He loves looking at fishes nowadays and had a wonderful time looking at all the fishes in the Aquarium and kept saying "fish" non stop and pointing to the fishes that caught his attention. Kids really grow up very fast and my little guy has started to say more words and is able to better express himself and understand more of what we are saying to him.
He can now tell me clearly "no mummy" whenever he does not want me to do certain things and say "nite nite to everyone he knows" before he goes to bed. My birthday wish is for my dear little one to stay healthy and happy and hopefully the dreaded "terrible twos" will stay far far away from him as he turns 2 soon in March.
I love my sweet little guy more and more each day and loves seeing his happy smiley face and cute laughter. I loves spending time with him more and more and loves bringing him out. He enjoys wondering around the library and looking for books on his favorite big trucks and cars. He also likes meeting up with his little friends and playing bubbles with them at the playground. I feel really blessed to have this sweet little one in my life and thankful to hubby for working hard to enable me to be a stay at home mum so that i can spend lot of time with our little guy and witness him reaching all his important milestones.

Little guy having fun at the playground
Fun time exploring Ang Mo Kio
It has been a long time since i went back to Ang Mo Kio Central and going there really brings back lots of fond memories. Ang Mo Kio was my home for 23 years and i have always enjoy shopping at Ang Mo Kio Central with my family when i was a kid. I brought my boy there this morning to try out my favorite crispy carrot cake at Ang Mo Kio market.
Yummylicious carrot cake
Chinese New Year decors on sales
I'm glad that my boy loves it too and had a fun time exploring Ang Mo Kio Central and checking out the Chinese New Year decors. We also bought some of his favorite traditional cream cake from Pine Garden. They have opened a branch at Ang Mo Kio Hub, level 1 and it is now more convenient to purchase our favorites cakes there :)

I'm planning to bring my boy to Ang Mo Kio Garden and library during our next trip so that i can show him more of my other childhood haunts and hopefully he will have a great time too :)

For those looking for Chinese New Year Clothes for your toddlers, do check out one of my favorite Children's Clothes store "Elly". I purchased their cute and colorful trucks designed shorts for my boy previously and he loves it. He is in the crazy about all types of vehicles stage and loves all things to do with vehicles :) I love their new CNY collections and am eying their Mandarin-collared shirt for boys for my little guy. I think he will love Elly's red trucks designed shirt and will be getting one for my boy.
Their cute little cheongsam for girls are really pretty and makes me wish i have a little girl to dressed up too for CNY hehe :)
You can find more pictures of their collections on their Facebook page. Happy shopping.
