Hooked to The Beijing Olympics 2008

I have been hooked to the Olympic games since it started on 8 August 2008 and have been faithfully following all of "Swimming Phenomenal" Michael Phelps's competitions and hoping that he would achieve his goal of winning 8 golds. He is really the highlight of this Olympics and after watching all his competitions, i really feel that this guy is just amazing! I'm really impressed with his determination to win and also his superb speed while in the water. This 23 years old American had already won more gold medals than any other athlete at the Olympics. I saw the live telecast of his last competition this morning and he has won his record eighth gold medal in the Men's 4 x 100m Medley Relay final and the US team also set a new world record time of 3:29.34! I'm sure that he has left a lasting impressions to all fans who have followed him in his journey to attaining 8 gold medals in the Beijing Olympics.

I have also been following other competitions like basketball, football and volleyball and i'm rooting for the Cuba women's volleyball team. I enjoys watching their matches and they really show good team spirits and have surperb skills.

One match i'm definately looking forward to is the women's team table tennis final tonight "Singapore Vs China" and i would definately be rooting for SINGAPORE!!! It has been a 48 year wait, but Singapore has finally clinched their first Olympic medal since 1960!! I watched the women's team semi-finals "Singapore Vs South Korea" on Friday and was really impressed with and proud of Singapore's player Feng Tianwei for her perseverance and hard work which resulted in two stunning victories against the Korea players and helped Singapore advanced to the finals tonight, Singapore would be guaranteed at least a silver medal even if they lose. However i'm praying hard that they would WIN!!! Go, Go Singapore...!!! Do catch the game at 7.30pm tonight!
