According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, one extra hour of sleep may help control coronary artery calcification, a major factor in heart disease. For folks who've been counting sheep to sleep, Dr Lim Li Ling, Medical Director and Consultant Neurologist at Singapore Neurology and Sleep Centre, suggests sticking to a sleep-wake schedule, regular exercise, avoiding excessive amounts of caffeine and having a wind-down routine before hitting the sack.
