Day 1 In Tokyo

All Packed And Ready For Tokyo Trip :>

Dinner at Changi Airport Toast Box Before Flight To Tokyo (24 October 2009)

Airport Limousine from Narita Airport

Hubby and i reach Narita Airport at 6am on 25 October 2009 after about 7 hours JAL night flight and decided to take the airport limousine which is a great choice as it is real convenient and hassle free. The bus drops us off directly at our hotel and the whole journey took about 90 minutes and we also bought return tickets for the trip back to Narita Airport on 31 October 2009 for our flight back to Singapore :> I can't believe we have finally reached my dream holiday destination TOKYO!!!!

However, it was raining when we landed in Tokyo and heavy rain and gusty winds from the weakening Tropical Storm Lupit continued for the next 2 days of our Tokyo trip :<>

First Meal Of The Day In Tokyo

Check-in time for our hotel was 1pm and we reached our hotel too early and decided to check out the area near our hotel and find out how to get to the train station and eating and shopping places while waiting for the hotel staff to prepare our room for early check-in. There are alot of cafes and small eateries at the various underpass linking to the Shinjuku train station and we decided to have our lunch at one of the eateries. Shinjuku Station is used by an average of 3.22 million people per day, making it the world's busiest train station. Shinjuku Station is actually several station all located next to each other, it is served by a multitude of JR, private and underground (subway) lines.

We ordered our food via the vending machine

Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

I love the hotel we stayed in as it is conveniently located in Shinjuku, in the very heart of the Tokyo metropolis and offers stunning view over central Tokyo from our hotel room!!! On a clear day during the third day of our trip when the season's 20th typhoon churned off the eastern coast of Honshu, a snow-capped Mount Fuji was visible on the Tokyo Horizon and i was able to view it from the comfort of our hotel room!!!!

We are also able to walk to the nearby shopping areas in Shinjuku like Takashimaya, Odakyu Shopping Centre, Keio Shopping Centre etc. and the hotel is just about 5 minutes walking distance from the train station. We are also able to change to the different lines like the Yamanote, Ginza lines from the main Shinjuku station to travel around Tokyo. The hotel also provides free shuttle bus service to and from Disneyland.
