I have finished watching the final episode of "Dong Yi" on Saturday and it is a great and perfect ending. Love the final episode which focuses on the sweet love between Dong Yi and the king. She seems so relaxed and happier outside of the palace and it shows in her relationship with the king and they both look happier outside of the palace.

There were also some light funny moments in the final episode especially the scene where Lady Bong had to get Ae Jung to help make the people seeking Dong Yi for help to remain orderly and line up was so comical.

I also love how Jin Ji Hee portrayed the king in a more humanised manner and i love his funny expressions whenever he was with Dong Yi. Not like the usual boring king :>

The scene where Dong Yi had to steop on the king's back again to climb over a wall to investigate a case was so funny and i was laughing non-stop. Haha... it was so funny when she started asking "Your majesty, don't tell me even one time also cannot?" and looked up the wall hinting to the King.... and the king thought innocently that she wanted to climb the wall herself and rushed to stop her but she started saying to him "you just need to bend down on the floor" and the king exclaimed "you want me to bend down!!! I'm the king!!! Before you did not know and now you still want me to bend down???". It was so funny when Dong Yi answered him with "When are you the king?? Aren't you a gentleman?" and the king stuttered "That is.... and Dong Yi continued, "You have to choose between the two! Now are you the king or the gentleman and the king answered helplessly "Alright i know..i know...i will bend down, is that ok!!!" hahahaha i was laughing non-stop at that scene. It was so sweet and funny :> it is moments like this that i love both Dong Yi and the king. He just cannot resist the fighting spirit of the "pungsan" (Dong's Yi's nickname for fighting dog) hahaha....i do love this drama ;>

Chun Soo looks so cool when he tried to arrest the corrupted police officer and i'm so glad that his character stayed alive till the end and was with Prince Yeoning during his coronation as king Yeongjo. Today is Monday and i will miss the Mondays where i look forward to new exciting episodes of "Dong Yi"........

I have borrowed some books on Joseon history from Woodlands library as i find Korea history fascinating after watching so many interesting historical dramas. I finished reading one of the books "Visits To The Kings" by Lee Byeongyu yesterday and it contains pictures and information on the Tombs of King Sukjong, his 3 queens, the crown prince (King Gyeongjong) and prince Yeoning (King Yeongjo) and also mention about Jang Hee Bin. The book provides not only academical information on the mausoleum, but also fun and interesting stories of the Royal Tombs and behind stories about the Royal Family of Joseon Dynasty. Those who are missing the drama can read up more about the characters from the books :>

I just finished watching Dong yi. the final episode shows her son visiting his mother's tomb. I am just curious, did Dong Yi died early. and how did she passed away so early before Chun Soo his brother. I just don't understand that part. any answers.
I am surprised that Korean culture is so near to the chinese.

Hi Veena, i guess its common for people in that era to die at a young age as medicine was not that advanced then. I remember reading somewhere that Dong Yi died at aged 48 of an illness. You can check out this blog (http://dramasrok.wordpress.com/category/dong-yi/) for more detailed information about Dong Yi and King Sukjong.

Thanks for this. It is a wonderful show, though I wish the last episode gives more coverage on the last days of Dong Yi and the King. Any idea what happen to the King? Did he die of illness too? Did he die young too at 50s? Many thanks!

You're welcome :) I also wish there were even more scenes of Dong Yi and the King's adventures outside the palace during the final episode. The king died in 1720 at aged 59 and you can read more about him at (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukjong_of_Joseon).
